Asbestos awareness training is required for employees that could foreseeably be exposed to asbestos. A focus should be given to any demolition workers and those workers in the refurbishment, maintenance or allied trades where it is foreseeable that their work will disturb the fabric of the building because ACMs may become exposed during this work.

On successful completion of this course, you should be able to:
Show an increased awareness of the nature and properties of asbestos and it’s effects on health, including the increased risk of lung cancer for asbestos workers who smoke.
Show you are familiar with types, uses and likely occurrences of asbestos in buildings and where appropriate items of plant
Demonstrate that you know how to avoid the risks from asbestos by understanding;

How to take sufficient workplace precautions, including risk assessments, or how to seek advice on workplace precautions regarding the risks of asbestos
