This is a dual category course is for experienced operators of forward tipping dumpers and ride on roller who are looking to obtain the CPCS Red Card.

To complete the course you need a CITB Health Safety and Environment test (known as the touch screen test) dated within the last 2 years.

    CPSC Course Agenda

    After completing the A09 Forward Tipping Dumper Truck & A31 Ride on Roller course you will be able to:

    A09

    • Describe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator.
    • Name and explain the purpose of principle components, the basic construction, controls and terminology.
    • Confirm with Manufacturer’s requirements as per the operator’s handbook, other types of information source and the relevant regulations and legislation.
    • Undertake all pre-use checks.
    • Configure and ready for travel (site and highway).
    • Travel over rough, undulating ground, steep inclines and level surfaces – loaded and unloaded.
    • Manoeuvre in confined spaces whilst carrying loads.
    • Ensure the suitability of the tipping and loading area.
    • Explain actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services.
    • Position to receive loads.
    • Comply with loading procedures.
    • Ensure Loading integrity and security.
    • Transfer loads to different locations.
    • Discharge loads into trenches and over edges.
    • Maintain safe and tidy working areas.
    • Carry out shut down and securing procedures.
    • Explain loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting.

    A31

    • Describe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator.
    • Name and explain the purpose of principle components, the basic construction, controls and terminology.
    • Relevant regulations and legislation
    • Undertake all pre-use checks.
    • Manoeuvring in confined spaces
    • Configure for travelling on site & compacting duties
    • Hazards, underground and overhead services
    • Compacting – in straight lines, radii, supported and unsupported edges
    • Principles, requirements and techniques of good compaction
    • Carry out shut down and securing procedures.
    • Explain loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting.

    Duration

    This is a 2 day course

    CPSC A09 & A31 Course Assessment

    Candidates will take a verbal theory test, and complete a practical assessment. Successful candidates will receive a 2 Year CPCS Category A09 and A31 Red Trained Operator License.

    Who Should Attend?

    This CPCS course is suitable for experienced operators who wish to obtain the CPCS Red Card for both the A09 Forward Tipping Dumper and A31 Ride on Roller and are looking to.

    This is only theory training & testing, no practical training is given. You will only complete the theory training followed by the theory & practical test. Should you require additional practical training please give us a call to discuss with one of our team on 03301271850.

    Further Training

    Once you have achieved your Red CPCS Trained Operator Card it lasts for 2 years. During these 2 years you must work towards and achieve your NVQ in Plant Operations to upgrade to a Blue CPCS Competence Card.
