The Health and Safety Awareness Course (also known as CITB HSA) is a one day CITB site safety plus course. It will give you a practical understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues identifying individual responsibilities for looking after yourself and others.
The course is used as one of the steps towards gaining the Green Labourer CSCS card.

Course Content
During the course you will cover the following topics:
You will gain an understanding of the need to prevent accidents
Health and safety law
Identify how their role fits into the control and management of the site
The need for risk assessments and method statements
The need to work safely and to stop and ask for advice if not sure
Your obligation to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
How Long Does The Health and Safety Awareness Course Take?
This is a one day CITB course.
Assessment & Certification
To complete the H&S Awareness course you must complete a multiple choice test of 25 questions. Your are required to achieve a pass rate of 80%. The certification is issued by CITB - Construction Industry Training Board (Site Safety Plus)
Who Is This Health & Safety Awareness Course For?
This course is for people who are, or are considering, working in the construction and civil engineering industry and require the CSCS Green Labourer Card to get on a construction site.
Claiming a CITB Grant
For companies that are CITB registered it is possible to claim £30 for each delegate who completes this course. In order for the grant to be claimed the company name and CITB levy number must be included on the delegates information form which is completed before the course starts.
How To Apply For a Green CSCS Labourer Card
To apply for a CSCS Green Labourer Card you need to attend and pass this course and also pass the CITB Health and Safety and Environment touch screen test. You can do these in either order, but we recommend doing this course first as it will useful as revision for the touch screen test.

When will my certificate be issued?
After you successfully complete the course we will request your certification from CITB. Certificates usually take between 6-8 weeks to be issued.
When will I receive my joining instructions?
You will receive course joining instructions 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement. If you book within this 7 to 10 time period then your joining instructions are emailed within 24 hours of when your booking was placed.
Will my lunch be provided?
The joining instructions will explain if your lunch is provided for the duration of your course.
What time does the course start?
Start and finish times are confirmed on your joining instructions.
What happens if I don't pass the course?
In the unlikely event you fail the course our team will contact you to discuss your options. We won't leave you high and dry, we'll find the best way for you to achieve the qualification required in the quickest way possible.
